Fundraising at Barlow Pre-school

Stikins Name Labels! Take a look at this website, they produce name labels for all your childrens belongings.

Name labels allow you to add stick-on name tags to your clothing, shoes, pen, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other school kit. Most name labels are stuck to the wash-care labels on clothing. Great for school uniforms, sports clubs, name labels help to reduce lost property and ensure your child returns home with their own uniform (and not someone else's). It also makes our lives easier when trying to work out who's coat is who's! It's not as easy as you think for the children to remember which things are theirs, when they are alongside everyone elses.

Everytime you purchase labels from Stikins, Preschool will recieve 30% commission, which is great for fundraising. Quote our number 36065.

Barlow Pre-school is a non - profit making charitable organisation, run by a committee of parents. We depend heavily on parent participation and support.

October 2017 - Tesco Blue Chips

Great news for Barlow pre school , our application to the Tesco bags of help grant scheme has been successful and our project to improve our outdoor area , and bring aspects of Forest school up to our outdoor area is now going to be possible with your help. Please can we share this and start collecting those blue chips from Tesco that we need to win
So what is this all about and what happens next.......

Our project along with the other two successful projects in our region will go forward to a vote in Tesco stores where their customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite project each time they shop. Voting will take place from Wednesday 1st November 2017 to Monday 1st January 2018 and they will notify us by the end of January 2018 confirming the amount of funding we will receive. The project with the highest number of votes across your region will receive up to £4,000, the second placed project up to £2,000 and the third placed project £1,000. If we are the first in the vote, we will receive the amount that we requested in our application.
So please please please share this and start collecting the blue chips from Tesco’s stores, if you are not offered any when purchasing your shopping please ask, they will all add up, if you start now and keep hold of the ones you receive then , then we will be well on our way to providing a new stunning outdoor/ forest school area at our pre school
Many thanks Sue and the team at Barlow pre school/ forest school xxxx

October 2017 - Bags for school

Don't forget to keep bringing in your bags full of jumble into preschool as part of the Bags for School fundraising.

Past Fundraising

A massive thank you to Barn Pots!

Barnpots have made an amazing donation of £250, we are used the money to update equipment at Pre School ready for the start of term in September.

A BIG Thank you to Charlie Aldersley's parents & A-Line Taxi's, who have become our Forest School sponsor and donated £200 to us for some new Forest School equipment. The money will go towards tools & den building equipment, safety equipment, hammocks and loads of other fun fantastic items to enhance our Forest School provision.

Ladies Night - Big thanks, we raised over £200 which will be match funded.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Race Night and Bakewell Pudding Night, both events raised £382.

Scholastic Book Club

For each £1 spent with Scholastic book club the pre-school receives 20% back in book vouchers.

Easy Fundraising

You can now raise funds for Barlow Pre School when doing your shopping online. All you need to do is log on to and choose Barlow Pre School as your chosen charity. Then use this site to connect to all your popular stores such as Argos, Tesco's, Amazon and many more. These stores will then donate a % of your purchase directly to pre school. A great way to raise funds with no expense or effort.

Matched Funding

Over some recent fund raising activities we have had our hard work and efforts matched by Barclays Bank PLC on a £ for £ matched scheme, for example if we were able to raise £750 on a particular event then Barclays have been able to match us by donating £750. This is very much appreciated and a huge boost for Pre-school.

If any Parents or Carers work for companies who are willing and able to contribute in a similar principal or indeed able to assist in any way then this would be so greatly welcomed and every child would benefit from the extended and generous support from the wider community.

Please speak to a member of Pre-School staff or a member of the Committee if you are in a position to help.

This is a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of a Business, whilst having fun and raising money for a great cause too!
