Welcome to Barlow Pre-school
Barlow Pre-school is a non profit-making charitable organisation with professional full time staff and run by a committee of parents.
As an approved Early Years Education Establishment we receive funding from Derbyshire County Council Education Service for 3 and 4 year olds, but depend heavily on the participation of parents to support our staff and raise the essential additional funding required to make our Pre-School the best possible environment for the children to learn and play.
Our Pre School also offers children the exciting opportunity to experience Forest School, currently three times a week, all year round. This gives parents the option for their child to attend 9.00am to 3.00pm with a picnic lunch between the normal session and Forest School .
In addition to parents, our fundraising effort is generously supported by members of the Barlow community and local businesses.
We would like to welcome you and your child to Barlow Pre-school. The website is designed to provide some basic information about us, although further details of our policies are contained in the Barlow Pre-school Operating Policies and Practices folder held at the Pre-school. You are also invited to ask the staff or committee members for any further information.
Aims
The aims of Barlow Pre –school are:
To offer Pre-school care and education that is affordable and accessible to all
To maintain high quality pre-school care and education
To ensure we have ongoing excellent staff and educational resources
Maximise opportunities to extend and improve the pre-school building and play area
To sustain the long term future of the pre-school by maintaining links to the wider community
Barlow Pre-school aims to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment for your child. By providing such an environment, your child will be motivated to learn and develop linguistically, intellectually, physically and socially from play-based activities, while working towards the early learning goals.
Through interaction with adults and other children our hope is that your child will develop a wealth of early learning skills and social skills, which will allow for a smooth and confident transition to primary school.
We also acknowledge and respect the parents/carers role in a child’s early development and aim to work in partnership with you to make your child’s time at Barlow Pre-school a successful and enjoyable experience.
